Pinellas Criminal Law is an independent information resource about Florida criminal law, with a focus on Pinellas County. We publish plain-language guides to criminal charges, arrest and the court process, penalties, and criminal records.
What we are
- A publisher of general educational information.
- Written for people who are trying to understand a charge, a court date, or a legal term, for themselves or for someone they care about.
- Built around primary sources. Our guides cite the Florida Statutes, court rules, and official agency pages, and link to them.
What we are not
- We are not a law firm. We do not represent anyone, and we cannot give advice about a specific situation.
- Our guides are not written or reviewed by an attorney unless a guide says so and names the reviewer.
- Reading this site, using its tools, or contacting us does not create an attorney-client relationship.
How to use this site
Start with the legal guides, look up unfamiliar words in the glossary, and follow the links in each guide to the official text of the law. Then take your questions to a licensed Florida attorney. If you cannot afford one, you can ask the court to appoint the public defender.
Accuracy and corrections
Laws and procedures change. Each guide shows when it was last updated, and our editorial standards explain how we research and correct our content. If you find an error, please tell us.
